Give
Giving at St. Paul's
As Christians, we are called to be generous because we know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for our sake he became poor, so that we by his poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). All that we have—including our very desire and ability to give—is a gift from God. “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36) When we give for the sake of Christ and his coming kingdom, we find ourselves midstream—so to speak—in the movement of his divine generosity.
But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.
2 CORINTHIANS 8:7
What is the Excel Fund?
The Excel Fund is how St. Paul’s casts vision and raises financial resources for deep and wide church growth projects that go above and beyond the ministries currently maintained through our Foundation Fund.
Foundation Fund
The Foundation Fund is how St. Paul’s seven major ministries (including worship, discipleship, community, local missions, global missions and missionaries, youth, and children’s ministries) are funded. This fund also maintains our church facility and staff compensation. Because of its foundational importance, the Session asks members of St. Paul’s to prioritize this fund with your regular gifts and offerings.
Deacons Fund
The Deacons Fund is how St. Paul’s diaconal ministry (which provides support to needy individuals and families within our congregation, outside requests for assistance, and a number of other mercy ministries we partner with) are funded. On the first Sunday of every month, when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, a special offering is taken up to support this fund.
